7. Aug. Bücher bei vinotrop.eu: Jetzt The Dead of Jericho von Colin Dexter Written for secondary and adult students the Oxford Bookworms Library. This book is good, yet it is just like any other ordinary mystery book. It has a boring start, but as the story progresses it gets more intense. It starts off like a mystery. The Dead of Jericho is the fifth novel in Colin Dexter's Oxford-set detective series. Morse switched on the gramophone to 'play', and sought to switch his mind.
When her nosy neighbour is also killed, Morse is convinced that Anne was murdered. Inspector Morse is just amazing, with complex characters, well outlined stories, and well-crafted scripts.
I loved the soundtrack; when Morse is listening to Porgi Amor from Marriage of Figaro with a sad expression on his face, I just wanted to reach into the television and hug him.
Thaw adopted a more likable and sensitive character than his novelistic counterpart, and it is this portrayal that I do prefer.
Also worth noting are contributions from the late Patrick Troughton as the blackmailing neighbour,Gemma Jones as the unfortunate Anne, James Laurenson as the "prime suspect" and the lovely Annie Lambert as his fiery wife.

However it is not clear for me to understand why the woman had to die. The Dead of Jericho is a criminal novel written by Colin Dexter.
It is happening in London, specifically in part of Jericho, somewhen in 20th century. After some talk, she gives him her address and he promises to visit her.
After some months he finally finds courage to go meet her in her house in Jericho, but sadly no one is opening. Before he desperately leaves, he sees some suspicious The Dead of Jericho is a criminal novel written by Colin Dexter.
Before he desperately leaves, he sees some suspicious things happening around. At evening, when he go drink again, he gets a call from police station about a crime taken place in Jericho.
With bad suspicion he slowly walks there and hears that Ann hanged herself. At first it seems like suicide but after it is looked deeper in, it is inkling to a murder.
Especially when other people get died too. I liked this book because the story was absorbing and breath-taking. Bachelor Inspector Morse is a melancholy man who has never been married.
At an Oxford Party he meets the fetching Anne Scott. He will later investigate a suicide case in which Anne is found hanging dead by a rope in her kitchen?
Why did she kill herself? Later a murder victim will be found bludgened to death in his seedy apartment. How are the crimes connected if at all?
To discover the answers solve the case in the company of Inspector Lewis and his fellow detective Sergeant Lewis. Enjoy this fine entry in the series and you will read them all!
Recommended for a light and mind challenging read! Typically good character writing by Colin Dexter, with Morse and Lewis engaging in work and play, and with the supporting personae.
We wish Dexter the best in retirement, but also wish he would come out of retirement now and then with a new Inspector Morse. One person found this helpful.
